Cavern Wallpaper - "Tigerlace"
After at least a year of back and forth with our wonderful factory in North Carolina we have finally nailed down the design and signed off on a 3-part folding screen that will act as a room divider, complete with its own work space. Yes, sounds slightly confusing, but I promise you it is going to be fabulous. We were not able to complete it in time for our last photo shoot and it is still being worked on as I write, so you will have to wait for the NY Gift Fair to get your first glimpse of it.
Although frustrating that it took so long to work out the mechanisms, it allowed us more time to tweak the details. One of the most exciting elements of the screen is that we have worked with Cavern Wallpaper (www.cavernhome.com) to create removable panels made with their paper. This way if you tire of the paper after a few years it can easily be replaced with a different design or even painted and you can use the screen in another space. All these papers can be custom colored and are available through Cavern's website. Check out the website for some of their installation photos. We can't wait to share the screen with all of you in a few weeks!!

While pouring through Elle Decoration, the English sister to Elle Decor, on my last trip down to High Point I stumbled across a small article on a company that designs Eco Friendly Swimming Pools. Of course I forgot the magazine on the plane, but I couldn't get these fabulous pools out of my mind. So upon further research I discovered a few companies based in the UK that create these natural wonders. I had never seen anything like them and can't figure out why there doesn't seem to be a company in the US that does this. Suffering through this heat wave has had me even more excited about these pools. They are uber chic and good for the environment. A friend of mine is contemplating installing a pool behind an 18th Century farmhouse she just bought and restored, but was concerned a swimming pool would upset the balance of the old farmhouse and the gardens, this seems like the perfect solution! Below are a few of my favorite pools. Check out www.swimnatural.com for more information.
