In any project that we take on, Rugs are always a huge part of the budget. Bottom line is they are just expensive. As you can probably tell by now Georgia and I are huge fans of the rugs at West Elm. For the look and feel they are priced so well.

We often turn to Restoration Hardware as well. Especially for stock and easy to order sisal rugs.  In the past year or so they have added gorgeous stocked rug options by Ben Soleimani. These are, however, quite pricey.

The Dara Rug sells for $1595 for a 5'x7' and $6295 for a 10' x 14'. The Souk Rug from West Elm gives a similar look for a much lower price point. The 5'x8' is $499 and the 9'x12' is $1299.

To follow up on some recent posts that Georgia has done in the Lust vs. Must category, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite lights from Urban Archaeology.

The Articulated Reading Light is a classic fixture that we have used many times.The retail price starts at just under $500.

Ok I couldn't resist another one of these lust vs. must posts.  I just have to share a deal when I find one.  Everyone loves these bistro chairs you can buy them in a gazillion colors and they work everywhere, well almost everywhere.  However, the good ones aren't cheap.  The chair below is an authentic bistro chair which will set you back about $800.00 and usually you need more than one so you are looking at close to $5000 for a set of 6.  Needless to say I was happy to come across the above version from Serena and Lily, that when you buy more than one, are $175 each ($198 for just 1).  They only come in the blue and white is the downside, but I thought it was a pretty good knock off! Disclaimer I haven't seen the cheaper version in person, but you can always send it back if they don't work out.  

So I came across another Lust vs. Must that I had to share! This one I actually discovered a few months ago when I was in West Elm and it didn't occur to me to do a post on it until now.  One of my favorite lights is the Serge Mouille 3-Arm Ceiling fixture.  Design Within Reach has the license to the Mouille Collection and does several interpretations of the original 1958 floor lamp.  Urban Archaeology also does several variations on it.  I have always loved this light and we recently used it in a project over a dining table.  It is certainly an investment piece so for those of you who aren't ready to commit to serious light fixture, but love the look I have the answer! The West Elm Long Arm Chandelier.  It is available in Black and White for a mere $299.00.  I have seen it in person and its quite good looking.  The only drawback is that it is quite a bit smaller than the original.  If it were me and I wanted it for over a longer dining table I would do two and you still aren't breaking the bank.
