Last year I wrote about the coffee table, pictured above, that I had Charles Hollis Jones make for my living room.  I enjoyed working with Charles so much that I have been looking for other places to use his pieces.   We are doing an apartment for a young client that is almost complete, Caroline posted a some pictures a few days ago of the master bedroom.  In the living room we needed a 10' console and immediately Charles came to mind.  Initially he didn't think he would be able to make it because of the size he had only ever done 7', but he pulled thru and I went out to visit him this morning at is studio in Burbank.  Unfortunately our console wasn't assembled yet, just in pieces.  But the trip was worth it to see everything else he had in there.  He is currently making 2 rocking chairs for Obama which was fun to hear about.  The administration wanted the presidential seal on them in a colored lucite, Charles refused on the grounds that it was tacky.....
