I know we posted about Lindsey Adelman a few months ago, but we visited her studio this morning to discuss having a chandelier made for one of our new projects and I was so excited and inspired I just had to share a few snaps! Above is a chandelier they are working on for ICFF, those are temporary plastic shades the final version will instead have white ceramic shades. I'm crazy for it, I love the mixed metals!

I had never seen the sconces they make, I'm dying to find a home for these!

This is a globe that has a light dusting of gold on the interior that casts a really beautiful light. I think we are going to try and do this on the chandelier we want to have made

Shelves of the handblown glass globes Lindsey Adelman is known for

This is a bird feather cast in gold, I want it as a necklace! Lindsey also makes jewelry which I wasn't aware of

Trays of Inspiration

I love this is glass globe with the Gold Bat and Sea Horse! Everywhere you turned there was something to feast on!

Marc Bankowsky is a talented designer from Paris and his products are sold at Maison Gerard in Greenwich Village. He works primarily in metal and plaster and you can custom order as well. For a new project we are using at least one of his designs and I just love his work!

Plaster Sconces

I just adore these leaf shaped gold sconces!

Again, the legs on this bench can be custom ordered as a coffee table.

So I came across another Lust vs. Must that I had to share! This one I actually discovered a few months ago when I was in West Elm and it didn't occur to me to do a post on it until now. One of my favorite lights is the Serge Mouille 3-Arm Ceiling fixture. Design Within Reach has the license to the Mouille Collection and does several interpretations of the original 1958 floor lamp. Urban Archaeology also does several variations on it. I have always loved this light and we recently used it in a project over a dining table. It is certainly an investment piece so for those of you who aren't ready to commit to serious light fixture, but love the look I have the answer! The West Elm Long Arm Chandelier. It is available in Black and White for a mere $299.00. I have seen it in person and its quite good looking. The only drawback is that it is quite a bit smaller than the original. If it were me and I wanted it for over a longer dining table I would do two and you still aren't breaking the bank.

I am a huge fan of Steven Gambrel. I think his taste is exquisite and his use of color is sublime. For a recent barn transformation in Virginia, Gambrel plays with color in the most unique way. I just love it!!

The challenge was to transform this large cattle barn into an entertaining space. Despite the large scale Gambrel was able to achieve a cozy and fun atmosphere through his use of unexpected color.

Gambrel used these two drawings as inspiration for the color choices he made for various architectural details throughout the barn. I love how this one bold decision really sets this project apart and keeps it from just being a traditional reinterpretation.

Georgia owns a pair of lapis lazuli earrings that are one of the prettiest pieces of jewelry I've ever seen. The first time that I saw her wearing them, I immediately asked who made them. She informed me that the jeweler in question was Iradj Moini. I looked him up online, stumbled upon his website, and fell in love. While I have no personal use for his jewelry, I do find it quite lovely to look at (though I will cop to having tried on a pair of his earrings in-store for the benefit of a friend. Let's just say that the full beard/gemstones combo was a bit scary).
All of his pieces are impressively scaled, mix stones in an effortless manner, and boast the most gorgeous, saturated colors I've seen in jewelry. The pieces are hand-made, and Iradj even has some of his work on permanent display in the Louvre! I bet your local jeweler can't say that. Now that I am an Iradj cheerlearder of sorts, I recommend him to everyone. You need earrings for your wedding? Look up Iradj! You're looking for a Christmas present for Mom? Check out Iradj! Your boyfriend owes you a (very nice) I'm sorry gift? Send him straight to Iradj!
Check out some of my favorite pieces below, and stop into his Soho shop if you are in the area. The staff are very friendly, and nothing quite beats seeing these small pieces of art in person!

Ok ok sorry for another baby post, this is the last one for awhile! However, I would post this regardless of my current condition, because I think it is seriously the coolest chicest baby's room ever! It is from a show house a few years ago in LA. It was designed by a designer from Windsor Smith's office. I'm a big believer in baby's are people too, why do they have to look at silly pictures of Thomas the tank engine on their walls and be surrounded have gender specific colors? Give them chic surroundings early on and hopefully they will carry that with them. Everything about this room is perfect!

I'm nuts for the changing tray how cool? You can take out the pad and turn it into a bar down the road

The wall covering we just recently used on a powder room we did, see image below
