BLOG - color combos

Here is a quick update on one of our current projects.  Above are the fabrics for the living room as you can see its a whole black and white scheme happening here.  I'm so excited for it because its a real departure from a lot of what we have done recently. The floors are going to be painted a white lacquer and there will be huge floor to ceiling bookshelves.  The carpet is the black sisal. The stripe is going on the windows.  The white linen is going on the sofa, which unfortunately I don't have a picture of yet.  The grey Rogers and Goffigon wool is going on the pair of chairs below and the grey and white marble looking print is going on the bench.  I think we are going to do some poufs or maybe make a throw out of the white yeti! Violet is one of my favorite colors. If things are violet, it's a safe bet I'm going to like them. I think this lovely hue is a bit under represented in interiors. Here's some examples of violet with it's sunny complement.

Goldfinch

Georgia's Post on Green and Grey made me think of other daring color combinations with grey. Orange is certainly one of them. Combining orange with too dark of a grey can look like Halloween, but done right it can be very chic.
