Today's blog really comes to you courtesey of Charlotte. She was telling me about the amazing Tcherassi Hotel and Spa in Cartagena, Colombia. The converted colonial mansion is located in the historical city center. Colombian fashion designer, Silvia Tcherassi, renovated the 250 year old house into a luxury boutique hotel and spa. Daniel Castaño is the chef of the hotel restaurant, Vera. I don't know about you, but my plane ticket is booked.

Lately our Sideboard Dining Table has been getting a lot of interest. Since the first time I saw this table, it has been one of my favorites. I think it looks good in the console form as well as in the full dining table. I would love to visit a space that uses this table. In the mean time, I'll tide myself over with these dining rooms.

I love the herringbone floors.

We are working with bar stools very similar to these chairs in one of our current projects.

Fun bench seating.

A bright chevron carpet can really wake a room up.

Ghost Chairs emphasize the floating quality of this farm table.

Hello, Deco.

A few nights ago, I met some of my friends at a hip new restaurant in the Flatiron District. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was a fellow designer that suggested we go to Maysville. Everything about this restaurant/bourbon bar is warm. The atmosphere, the orangey brown color palette and the glowing bourbon bottles behind the bar. It is named Maysville after the town in Kentucky which is said to be the birthplace of bourbon. The sketched horses are a clear reminder of Kentucky while the lighting design is slightly more obscure. The patterns created by the lights on the ceiling create a replica of an aerial view of the Maysville tobacco fields. Definitely worth a visit!

We just started work on a new project and love the direction it is going! This is what has been selected for the dining room. For those of you with good memories you will remember I have been drooling over this plaster chandelier for awhile now, the chandelier will hang above this black stone table and the dining chairs are being made by Charles Hollis Jones. We still have to pick a fabric for the seats, I'm thinking maybe a white or black pony hair, fun right? Can't wait to share pictures of the project when it complete this spring!

Our new project is progressing nicely. We had a meeting with our client yesterday and it it looking likely that we'll be using these Charles Hollis Jones Lucite Tub Chairs as our dining chairs. I think they are gorgeous and can't wait to see them in person.

Carolina George is no stranger to Charles Hollis Jones. We've used his pieces in several of our projects before, including Georgia's apartment. However, we've never been quite as extreme as this Lucite wonderland!

I know I'm about a year late, but I had dinner at Crown the other night and was reminded how pretty the space it. These pictures don't do it justice because in the evening the room is dimly lit and has such a pretty romantic feel. It really doesn't feel like anything else uptown. I'm happy to be a few blocks from it while staying in NY and I know it will become my go to for a cozy drink at the bar or a fun dinner with friends. It is open for lunch on Sunday so I will have to pop in then to see the space by day.
