BLOG - High Point

My camera phone is probably my most relied upon tool.  Regardless of where I am, I can quickly send a photo to Georgia or a client for their opinion and feedback.  This past week I was able to communicate with Georgia from High Point to Paris so she could see the progress of our booth for next week's show as well as our new finishes.   From her end, Georgia sent me photos of all her fabulous finds in Paris and at times I felt like i was there (or at least wished i was!). While looking back on the photos we had both captured over the course of the past few weeks Georgia and I decided that we should start sharing our digital sketchbooks with our readers. This is the first post of a new series: "The Chronicles of Carolina George".

In High Point....Preparing for the show....

I just returned from an amazing two weeks in Turkey. Turkey and in particular Istanbul is by far and away one of my favorite places.  There was inspiration to be found at every corner.  One of my best finds from the trip was an amazing Ikat source.  My husband I purchased a variety of silk velvet ikats for our new home as well as the more traditional weave shown below. I just love this fabric and it turned out to be our source of inspiration for our new range of finishes that will be unveiled at High Point in October.  In addition to our existing colors and finishes, we will be offering our casegoods in the blue, yellow, green, and pink shown below. Our upholstered pieces will be available in the ikat as well as the antique gold velvet.  

Our trip to High Point was a great success! We cannot wait to get our new pieces up on the site. In the meantime, we want to share a few pics of our favorite pairings. Enjoy!
