Today's blog really comes to you courtesey of Charlotte. She was telling me about the amazing Tcherassi Hotel and Spa in Cartagena, Colombia. The converted colonial mansion is located in the historical city center. Colombian fashion designer, Silvia Tcherassi, renovated the 250 year old house into a luxury boutique hotel and spa. Daniel Castaño is the chef of the hotel restaurant, Vera. I don't know about you, but my plane ticket is booked.

A gorgeous day like today makes me wish that I lived in a place where it was possible to have a pool of my very own. Nothing sounds more appealing than an after work dip!

It is probably pretty obvious by now that I am not a huge fan of winter weather and all that comes with it. I would say that 90% of my daydreaming during the winter months is occupied with thoughts of warmer weather and relaxing by the water. While the weather today is mild and the sun seems to want to make an appearance, it still makes me smile to think about well-designed pools and backyards. Enjoy some of my favorites...

While pouring through Elle Decoration, the English sister to Elle Decor, on my last trip down to High Point I stumbled across a small article on a company that designs Eco Friendly Swimming Pools. Of course I forgot the magazine on the plane, but I couldn't get these fabulous pools out of my mind. So upon further research I discovered a few companies based in the UK that create these natural wonders. I had never seen anything like them and can't figure out why there doesn't seem to be a company in the US that does this. Suffering through this heat wave has had me even more excited about these pools. They are uber chic and good for the environment. A friend of mine is contemplating installing a pool behind an 18th Century farmhouse she just bought and restored, but was concerned a swimming pool would upset the balance of the old farmhouse and the gardens, this seems like the perfect solution! Below are a few of my favorite pools. Check out www.swimnatural.com for more information.
